Planning For Success

Planning must be made for successful ministry. A failure to plan is a plan to fail. As one has said, “Plan your work and work your plan.” All that we plan will not come to pass. However, having a plan and working toward it is essential to success. Jesus said, “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” (Luke 14:28)

Do not be afraid to dream of things for the Lord’s glory. Moses had dreams. Joseph had dreams. They did alright in their service to the Lord. Far too often people seem to have the attitude, “Don’t expect anything and you won’t be disappointed.” What a dull way to live. Faith tells us God will provide all our needs according to His riches in glory.

Gary Henderson and the folks at Ridgecrest in Jonesboro were a delight to be with Sunday. I spoke to the Brotherhood breakfast and to the 11 a.m. worship service. They were good to preach to and worship with. They received a generous love offering for State Missions at the close of the service. Their vision is to do great things for the Lord.

Hispanic Missions in Jonesboro I spent several hours with Sal Berumen Saturday evening. The mission has been provided a great church plant in Lake City. They have bi-lingual services and will get started at the new location in March. Their church is called Nueva Esperanza Baptist Church (New Hope). Sal loves the Lord and loves souls. He is sharing the message of Christ and I believe many souls will be saved as a result. This mission came out of Temple in Jonesboro. It is supported both by the Jonesboro Association and State Missions.

Advisory Committee Meeting

I am meeting with this committee on Friday. They will help in planning and developing new ideas to make our work more effective. I thank God for these godly men who love Missions and what we are doing in our state.
