Spotlight on West Park, Ozark Troy Vaughn, Missionary

“Brother I. V. often tells me that I am having too much fun as a missionary to get paid for it. While it is fun to see people saved, lives changed and get a check, I take the responsibility of my calling very serious. Each day brings a new blessing made possible because of the love and mercy of The Savior.

“The Lord’s vineyard at Ozark is like any other. People live here and people are our business. Our folks at West Park are made up of a broad range of individuals and families from many parts of the country, not just Arkansas. We have a strong emphasis on faithfulness and true worship that will please our Heavenly Father.

“As far as outreach in the community we are very active. In May we had our Fifth Annual Mothers and Friends Banquet. This was a vision of my wife and best friend, Rhonda. Almost 200 ladies attended this year. The men try not to be outdone as we have our annual men and boys Beast Feast to kick off Marching for the Master each spring.

“Preschool through fifth graders meet on Wednesday evening for W.O.W. (Warriors of the Word). A large group of teens also meet on Wednesday evening for Bible study. The youth have events during the year to help them grow in their spiritual walk. Because of dedicated, doctrinally sound workers and teachers, West Park is well on the way to becoming a strong local New Testament church. It is a joy to enter the pulpit each week after faithful men and women have led the congregation in prayer, music and song to a place where hearts are ready to worship.

“Maybe Bro. I.V. is right.”
